Nesting Eagle Webcam
Watch carefully and you will see two other things:
1) The parents seem to purposefully drop pieces of meat into the nest for the two chicks to find. They also lay some out up the grassy slope of the nest, tempting them to hunt for it.
2) At times, the older chick appears to be pecking quite harshly at the younger ... maybe a "selection of the meanest" process. Perhaps it is better to stay in the egg right now.
Just below is a record (from the thread of messages) of when the eggs were laid. I gather that the "4-9" date is their forecast based on typical incubation time. Some folks claimed to have seen a beak poking through the last egg this morning ... whistful thinking?
