Eclipse... see it from anywhere in the US

Here is a easy to operate website from Time.com with a tool that allows anyone to see what the eclipse will look like from where ever they happen to be next Monday afternoon. Below is a snapshot of what you will see. You can forward this email to friends elsewhere and they can input their own Zip Code to get a preview.

This site opens with an image like the one below. Tap it where it says TAP HERE. Next, enter your zip code or city of interest (up near the top). That’s it. I typed in 90001 and this is the image I was shown. It is actually a complete time-line video of the whole eclipse sequence. The frame below indicates the occultation you can expect. We will get about the same in Belfast, but with the lower half of the Sun blocked because we are North of the path of the eclipse while you are South of it.

So .... we won’t miss the eclipse altogether .... if the sky is clear. I’ll build a big Box Projector so we can watch it happen. With only a 55 % occultation of the Sun, no one will be tempted to look directly at the Sun .... it will still be eyewateringly bright.
